JEEVA (operating as jeevapetcare.com) is a pet care services platform based in Guwahati, Assam, India. We connect pet owners with groomers, hostels, vets, trainers, breeders, and adoption centres.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of jeevapetcare.com and its associated dashboards — customers, partners, vets, and trainers.

2. What Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, phone number when registering
  • Pet profiles — name, species, breed, age, gender, weight, health notes
  • Pet photos and profile photos (stored as images)
  • Booking details — service type, dates, preferences, notes
  • Payment information — payment method preference only (we don't store card numbers)
  • Messages and updates exchanged with trainers, vets, and partners
  • Blog posts and stories you submit
  • Partner registration details — business name, type, location, certifications

Information collected automatically:

  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and features used on our platform
  • IP address and general location (city/region level)
  • Cookies used for authentication (keeping you logged in)

We do NOT collect:

  • Full payment card details (no card numbers are stored)
  • Precise GPS location without your explicit permission
  • Contacts, microphone, or camera access without your action

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process bookings — sharing your name, pet details, and contact with the assigned service partner
  • To operate the platform — account management, authentication, and dashboard functionality
  • To send notifications — booking confirmations, status updates, training session updates
  • To improve the platform — understanding which features are used most, fixing bugs
  • AI features — your pet's profile data and vet notes are sent to the Claude AI API (Anthropic) to power AI Health Scans and Vet Summaries. This data is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API call
  • Legal compliance — as required by Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023

4. Who We Share Your Information With

Service Partners: When you book a service, your name, pet details, and contact number are shared with the assigned partner (groomer, hostel, vet, trainer). They are bound by confidentiality as part of their JEEVA partnership.

Technology Providers:

  • Google Firebase — authentication and database (Google's privacy policy applies)
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and security
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI features only, when you use them

We never share your data with:

  • Advertisers or marketing companies
  • Data brokers or aggregators
  • Any third party for commercial purposes

Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information:

  • All data is stored on Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption
  • All connections to jeevapetcare.com are encrypted with HTTPS (SSL/TLS)
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text — Firebase Authentication handles all password security
  • Firestore Security Rules restrict access so users can only access their own data
  • Admin access to all data is restricted to authorised JEEVA staff only

However, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and not share your login credentials.

6. Your Rights (DPDPA 2023)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correction — update your name, phone, pet details anytime from your dashboard
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how your data is handled
  • Nominate — nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — specifically, Firebase Authentication session cookies that keep you logged in. These are required for the platform to function.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies (unless Google Analytics is enabled, which will be disclosed).

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings — this will log you out of the platform.

8. Data Storage Location

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase data may be stored in data centres located outside India (including the United States). By using JEEVA, you consent to this cross-border data transfer as permitted under applicable Indian law.

Google Firebase complies with GDPR and relevant international data protection standards.

9. Children's Privacy

JEEVA is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account promptly.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify registered users via email or an in-app notification.

Continued use of JEEVA after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing jeevapetcare.com or registering an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and JEEVA (operated from Ganeshguri, Guwahati, Assam, India).

2. The JEEVA Platform

JEEVA is a marketplace platform that connects pet owners with pet service providers (partners) in Guwahati, Assam. JEEVA itself is not a service provider — we are the platform that facilitates connections.

This means:

  • The quality of services is the responsibility of the partner providing them
  • JEEVA is not liable for the actions of independent partners
  • We do screen and approve partners before listing them, but cannot guarantee every interaction

3. Your Account

  • You must provide accurate, current information when registering
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access
  • One person may hold one account per role (customer, partner, vet, trainer)
  • You must be 18 years or older to register

4. Bookings & Cancellations

Making a booking: When you submit a booking, it is subject to confirmation by the partner. A booking is confirmed only when the partner or JEEVA admin marks it as "Confirmed".

Cancellations by customer: Please cancel as early as possible — at least 24 hours before the scheduled service — so partners can plan accordingly. Cancellations within 2 hours of the service may be subject to a cancellation fee at the partner's discretion.

Cancellations by partner: If a partner cancels, you will be notified immediately and JEEVA will help reschedule with another partner.

No-shows: If you fail to show up without cancelling, the partner may charge the full service fee.

5. Payments

Currently, JEEVA operates on a Pay on Arrival basis for most services — you pay the service provider directly (cash or UPI) at the time of service.

For pet store orders, payment options include Cash on Delivery, UPI on Delivery, or Online Transfer.

JEEVA does not currently process or hold any payments. All financial transactions are between you and the service provider/our store.

Prices displayed on JEEVA are indicative. Final pricing may vary and will be confirmed by the partner before the service.

6. AI Features — Disclaimer

⚠️ Important: JEEVA's AI features (Pet Health Scanner, Vet Notes Summariser, Training Plan Generator) are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. They are NOT a substitute for professional veterinary or medical advice.

  • AI health assessments are not diagnoses. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical decisions
  • AI training plans are suggestions. Trainers should adapt them based on their professional judgement
  • AI-generated content may contain errors and should be reviewed before use
  • JEEVA is not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated content

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
  • Post offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content in reviews or blog posts
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users or partners
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform without permission
  • List or offer services that violate Indian law or harm animal welfare

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or legal action.

8. Content You Submit

When you submit blog posts, reviews, or pet photos on JEEVA:

  • You confirm you own or have the right to share the content
  • You grant JEEVA a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform
  • You are responsible for ensuring content is accurate and doesn't infringe third-party rights
  • JEEVA reserves the right to remove content that violates our community standards
  • Blog posts submitted by customers are reviewed before publication

9. Liability Limitation

JEEVA shall not be liable for:

  • The quality, safety, or outcome of services provided by partners
  • Any injury, loss, or damage to your pet during a service
  • Losses arising from platform downtime or technical issues
  • Decisions made based on AI-generated content
  • Actions or omissions of independent partners

Our maximum liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to JEEVA (platform fee, if any) in the month in which the issue arose.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Guwahati, Assam, India.

We encourage resolution of disputes through direct communication first — contact us at [email protected] and we will make every effort to resolve issues fairly and quickly.

Pet Store Orders

Return window: 7 days from delivery for eligible products.

Eligible for return:

  • Item arrived damaged or defective
  • Wrong item delivered
  • Item significantly different from description

Not eligible for return:

  • Opened pet food, treats, or consumables (for hygiene reasons)
  • Items damaged due to misuse
  • Items without original packaging

Refund process: Email [email protected] with your order number and photos of the issue. We will respond within 48 hours. Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days via the original payment method.

Service Bookings

Since JEEVA currently operates on a Pay on Arrival basis, refunds for bookings primarily apply to situations where advance payment was taken:

Full refund if:

  • The partner cancels the booking
  • JEEVA cancels the booking due to partner unavailability
  • The service was not delivered as described

Partial refund or no refund:

  • Customer cancels less than 24 hours before service — at partner's discretion
  • Customer no-shows — generally no refund

Pet Training Packages

Before training starts: Full refund if you cancel before the first session.

After training starts: Refund for unused sessions only, minus a 10% administrative fee.

If trainer cancels: Full refund or reschedule — your choice.

Training refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the session in question.

  • Reason for refund
  • Photos if applicable (damaged items, wrong orders)

We aim to respond within 48 hours and process approved refunds within 5–7 business days.
